Microsoft merekrut Hacker berumur 14 tahun !! (14 Year Old Hacker Hired by Microsoft after doing phishing via Call of Duty Server )

Ada dua pilihan ketika sebuah perusahaan besar berurusan dengan hacker: menuntut atau merekrut. Tak seperti Sony, langkah berbeda dilakukan Microsoft kepada bocah berusia 14 tahun ini. Seperti apa ulahnya?

Bocah yang dikenal di dunia maya dengan nama samaran 'Jake' ini mulai naik daun ketika ia bisa membobol server game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 dengan memasukan phising scam. Akibat ulahnya, Activision selaku pembuat game itu sempat kebakaran jenggot.

Penasaran dengan pelaku pembobolan tersebut, Microsoft pun segera mencari tahu. Ternyata sang pelaku adalah bocah berusia 14 tahun.

Seperti dikutip detikINET dari Hacker news report, Jumat (10/6/2011), Microsoft dilaporkan justru akan membantu Jake mengembangkan talentanya untuk tujuan positif. Hal ini pun sempat menuai kontroversi karena bagaimana mungkin Microsoft mempekerjakan anak di bawah umur.

Menangapi hal itu Managing Director Microsoft Irlandia, Paul Rellis membantahnya. Microsoft tak mungkin langsung mempekerjakan anak di bawah umur.(ind)

This is exactly what Sony should have done with George Hotz – given him a job as a security specialist, instead of suing him in court and getting its PlayStation Network and other Sony websites hacked day in and out.

Microsoft is reported to be working with the 14-year-old Irish hacker who managed to stir up a little trouble with his Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 phishing scam alert. According to the managing director of Microsoft of Ireland, the company is helping the hacker “develop his talent for legitimate purposes.”

Congrats to that young hacker, whose name was not disclosed. While the new prospect for the Dublin kid is not meant to be an example for other hackers to follow, companies do have to realize that there are many talented people among hackers. Why make an enemy when you can have them on your side?


Update: Statement from Microsoft denying the entire thing:
The comments attributed to Microsoft Ireland's Managing Director Mr. Paul Rellis, when speaking at a business event last week, are inaccurate. He never said anything close to what is being reported in some Irish media. Mr. Rellis was commenting on various developers and hobbyists using drivers that allow other devices to display the raw data output from Kinect for Xbox 360 sensors. Microsoft can also confirm that the company has not offered to mentor a 14-year-old from Tallaght who purportedly was related to a phishing scheme.

Secondhand Serenade History

Secondhand Serenade is an American acoustic rock band, led by vocalist and guitarist John Vesely. Vesely has released three studio albums to date under the name Secondhand Serenade: Awake in 2007, A Twist in My Story in 2008 and Hear Me Now in 2010. The debut album used multitrack recording to create the sound of a band using technology,while the second album took a different path, using a proper band and synthesizers to establish a more accomplished sound.

John Vesely formed Secondhand Serenade in his home town of Menlo Park in California, USA, in 2004. Vesely was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in a musical family and as the son of a professional jazz musician father, commenting that "getting into music was a natural thing" for him. He spent 8 years playing bass in local bands, featuring in a number of acts ranging in style from ska and hardcore to rock and pop.One of the bands he played in, Sounds Like Life,included fellow Bay Area artist Ronnie Day. After years of playing bass, he opted for an acoustic guitar. Vesely follows in the tradition of John Ondrasik's Five for Fighting. Vesely was also the son of a Czech immigrant.

Awake re-release (2007-2008)



In early 2007, Awake was reissued by Glassnote Records with an additional two songs. It was released on January 31 and gave Vesely his first chartings, debuting at #16 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart.Added success lead to it peaking at #164 on the Billboard 200, #3 on the Top Heatseekers and #19 on the Independent Albums chart.

In support of his first label release, Vesely was featured on MTV's You Hear It First, AOL Music's Breakers Yahoo! Music's Who's Next?and appeared on talk show Late Night with Conan O'Brien.He also played numerous shows, including tours with the likes of Hawthorne Heights and The All-American Rejects and at music festivals South By Southwest and along side My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park at Bamboozle.

Secondhand Serenade released only one song as a single from the debut album, "Vulnerable". The song spawned a music video, which was created by Frank Borin who was responsible for the Red Hot Chili Peppers' video for hit single "Dani California"."Vulnerable" peaked at #83 on the Billboard Hot 100, #64 on the Pop 100 and #56 on the Hot Digital Songs charts.


A Twist in My Story (2008-2009)



A Twist in My Story was released on February 19, 2008 and features songs from Awake such as "Maybe" and "Your Call," but reproduced with a full band. The bulk of the album however is a list of new songs written by John Vesely and recorded with a full band. Two tracks on A Twist In My Story were produced by famed producer Butch Walker, while the others were produced by former Nine Inch Nails member Danny Lohner. The first single, "Fall for You," was released January 21, 2008. The album was leaked, and was made available for download one month before its official release. On January 28, 2008 the music video for the first single from the album "Fall for You" premiered on the MTV show TRL. In support of the release, Secondhand Serenade spent most of March and April touring with American bands Making April, Automatic Loveletter, and The White Tie Affair. Members of his touring band include Steve Shebby on bass guitar, Lukas Vesely (Vesely's brother) on keys/vox, Ryan Cook(former bassist of the White Tie Affair) on lead guitar/vox, and Tom Breyfogle on drums.

The title A Twist in My Story is a reference to Vesely's 2008 divorce with his former wife Candice, with whom he has two young sons.Vesely had separated with Candice in August 2007, the time when the tracks for A Twist In My Story were being created.

In November 2008 the album's first single "Fall for You", was certified Platinum by the RIAA.As of December 5, 2008 "Fall For You" was still #13 on the American Top 40 songs in the country.

The "Your Call" video premiered on FNMTV on December 5. It can be viewed on the FNMTV website.

He released a video for the song "Maybe" on his Myspace page on May 4, 2009. Its a video about his concerts and trips around the world and was shot and directed by his tour manager Preston Jones and his drummer Tom Breyfogle.

A Twist in My Story (Deluxe Edition) was released on February 3, 2009. It contains 5 bonus tracks including "Your Call" (Radio Version), "Fall for You" (Acoustic Version), "Like A Knife" (Acoustic Version), his single "Last Time", and the Coldplay cover "Fix You".


Hear Me Now (2010-Present)

Secondhand Serenade's third studio album is entitled Hear Me Now, and was released on August 3, 2010. The album's track listing has also been announced.In a recent interview, Vesely stated that the new record will be more upbeat than his last album, which focused on relationships.
“ Secondhand Serenade - singer/songwriter John Vesely - returns with his third album, Hear Me Now, out August 3rd on ILG/Glassnote Records. Eight of the eleven songs on the album were produced by Aaron Johnson (The Fray) at Swing House studios in Los Angeles. The other three, including the first single, "Something More", were produced by John Vesely himself along with Secondhand drummer Tom Breyfogle at Vesely's home studio and mixed by Mark Endert (Train, Maroon 5). "Something More" will debut at 7:40AM on May 17th on Kid Kraddick's nationally syndicated radio show and will be available at iTunes on June 1st. ”

On June 1, "Something More" was released onto iTunes as a deluxe single with a bonus track "You Are A Drug", a video showing the making of "Something More", and a digital booklet to the new single.

On July 21, while on tour in Dallas, Vesely announced that a downloadable track pack for Rock Band would be made available soon, featuring multiple Secondhand Serenade hits including "Fall For You".

On July 27, Vesely added the eleven tracks off of the new album to his Myspace and made them available for streaming for fans. Many of these songs have also leaked onto sites such as Youtube. On November 23, 2010, Vesely released a free online download for a demo of a new song off the new EP entitled "Let Me In." The next single off the new album is a new version of "You & I" featuring Cady Groves

Vesely plans to release an EP following his current tour featuring all new acoustic songs. In March 2011, Vesely announced he was mastering the new EP and that it would be entitled Weightless. Weightless was released digitally on May 3, 2011 and consists of five songs: "Our Time," "Let Me In," "Animal (Neon Trees Cover)," "You & I (Acoustic)," and "Never Too Late".

Bagaimana Tips Merawat Sepeda yang baik?

Berikut merupakan Tips dan Trik untuk merawat sepeda gunung dengan cara mencuci sepeda MTB dengan benar. Tips ini memberikan teknik membersihkan MTB mulai dari sadel hingga sistem pengereman. Keseluruhan proses dapat di lakukan tidak kurang dari 40 menit.

Langkah-langkah mencuci sepeda MTB dengan baik dan benar :

1. Lepas semua aksesoris yang berada di stang, misal : bel, lampu, spidometer dll. Jika anda menggunakan V brakes lepas kabel penghubungnya dengan menekan kedua sisi calipers. Teknik melepas kabel v brakes ini berlaku juga jika anda menggunakan V brakes pada roda belakang.

2. Putar balik sepeda anda, untuk menghidari lecet pada sadel dan grips kita dapat memakai alas yang tidak terlalu keras dan empuk misal kita dapat menggunakan matras dengan ketebalan 5mm. Cara membalik sepeda dengan benar adalah anda berdiri di samping sepeda pegang bagian suspensi depan (down tube) dan satu tangan memegang seat pos (dudukan sadel). Kemudian putar secara perlahan hingga sepeda terbalik.

3. Melepas roda depan dan belakang, buka pengencang as roda depan dengan membukan klip pengunci jika ada, jika sepeda anda tidak menggunakan klip, anda harus menggunakan kunci pas sesuai dengan ukuran baut yang di gunakan sebagai pengunci as roda depan. Untuk melepas Roda belakang, lepas pengencang as roda belakang, tarik kebelakang sistem pemindah gigi (RD) rear derailleur secukupnya sehingga roda belakang bisa di tarik keatas dan terlepas.

4. Membersihkan bagian bawah frame, gunakan lap kain dan air sabun. Lap secara merata ke seluruh bagian frame, handle bar (stang depan), bagian top tube (frame atas), dan seatways (frame belakang). Jangan lupa membersihkan kabel pemindah gigi dan penarik rem.

5. Membersikan Sistem Roda.
Gunakan lap kain dan air sabun roda depan dan belakang, anda dapat menggunakan cairan pembersih kotoran jika ada kotoran yang susah di buang, misal menggunakan WD-40. Bersihkan kotoran pada as roda, hub dan keseluruhan roda termasuk jari-jari roda.
Jika anda menggunakan cakram pada roda anda cukup sikat dengan teliti di semua bagian cakram.

6. Membersikan sistem penggerak (rantai, gir, pedal, rear derailleur). Siapkan sikat dan air bersabun. Mulailah menyikat RD dengan sikat yang telah di basahi air sabun, untuk membersikan rantai gunakan lap kain yang lembut, basahi lap tersebut dengan air sabun putar rantai dengan memutar pedal anda kedepan sehingga rantai berputar. Tempelkan lap pada rantai sepeda anda sehingga kotoran yang ada menempel pada lap tadi. Lanjutkan dengan membersikan Crank (gir depan, lengan pedal dan pedal) dengan sikat yang sudah di basahi dengan air sabun, sikat secara merata dan teliti sehingga semua bagian penggerak depan terkena air sabun dan kotoran terlepas, kemudian lap dengan lap bersih. Bersihkan pedal dan bagian sisi dalam gir dengan sikat dibasahi air sabun, lanjutkan dengan mengeringkan dengan lap bersih.

7. Cek Sistem Roda
Pasang kembali roda depan dan belakang, pastikan klip pengencang roda terpasang dengan baik dan dapat mengunci roda dengan sempurna. Mungkin kita sedikit menemui kesulitan untuk memasang kembali roda belakang, tipsnya masukan gir belakang di antara mata rantai dan tekan kebawah sehingga dapat masuk ke dudukan roda belakang dengan sempurna, lakukan dengan hati-hati. Setelah semua roda terpasang cek putaran roda baik depan dan belakang amati dengan seksama apakah goyang atau tidak, jika goyang kemungkinan besar jari-jari roda perlu di stel ulang. Anda dapat membawanya ke bengkel sepeda (tukang stel velg).

8. Pelumasan
Tip untuk melumasi bagian-bagian penting sepeda gunung anda adalah bagian rantai, shifter, sistem pengerak roda depan dan belakang (FD-RD), pedan dan lengan pedal. Gunakan pelumas yang bagus dan jangan menggunakan oli bekas, gunakan cairan pelumas yang khusus untuk rantai sepeda mtb anda.

9. Cek Sistem pengereman
REM Merupakan salah satu bagian vital dari sepeda, jika tidak dapat berfungsi dengan baik keselamatan kita menjadi taruhannya. Untuk mengecek rem roda depan berdirilah di depan sepeda anda dan tekan rem roda depan, kemudian tarik sepeda kedepan jika frame dan roda belakang terangkat berarti rem roda depan masih berfungsi dengan baik, jika tidak segera ganti kampas rem depan dengan yang masih bagus. Untuk rem roda belakang, berdirilah di depan sepeda anda dan tekan rem belakang, jika roda depan terangkat diantara sela kaki anda kemungkinan rem belakang masih berfungsi dengan baik, jika tidak segera cek dan ganti kampas rem dengan yang baru.
Kedua tips untuk pengecekan sistem pengereman tersebut dapat di terapkan baik rem dengan V brake atau dengan Disc brake. Cek semua setelan kabel atau minyak rem (dish brake dengan oil).
